Harmonization of Sustainability Reporting Regulation: Analysis of a Contested Arena

This paper presents the case for sustainability reporting field as a contested arena and examines behavior influence of various actors, such Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), International Integrated Council (IIRC), European Commission, including Financial Advisory Group (EFRAG) (IFRS) Foundation in influencing shape regulation arena. Drawing on concept documentary analysis, this study explores dynamic which each actor is attempting to change rules within how contributes harmonization future direction reporting. The findings show that actions actors are premeditated strategically calculated maintain their influence, relevance, defend technical authority also suggest still far away from due perceived hegemony arena, diversity overarching objective inability renounce its particular perspective orientation.
